How to Try in Business without Really Succeeding
8/13/19
If you're not good at business, you might as well stay home. And not muck it up for the rest of us.
But what is business, in case you were wondering whether you feel a flu coming on?
Is it just what it sounds like? Being busy? Busy-ness?
Mmmm. It seems like a lot of people who are good at business, don't seem all that busy.
It's also called work. But maybe that doesn't fit either.
These unbusy people generally have no interest in filling their leisure time with work.
Certainly, in business, there are many people who are busy, and even many of them are busy working. I have no doubt. I can't 100% verify it, but I've known enough earnest otters and busy beavers who would angrily protest anything I would say to the contrary, and they would probably claim that I was in fact, part of the problem that I generally observe.
They would secretly believe that I am the reason so many businesses fail!
And that is our topic of the week.
Businesses that fail and the trying try hards who try to save them.
Why do businesses fail?

Just kidding. But seriously, here are a couple reasons businesses commonly fail:
1.) They didn't hire me.
So look out Amazon, Google, Walmart, Chuck-e-cheeze. You're going down, as sure as the sun goes out every night, and is relit by the farts of Gorgons.
2.) The Whack-a-Mole of Control
Here is the secret to understanding most leaders. What they fear most is failure. But failure is inevitable. Rather than embracing this truth, they will deny it as long as possible. And as long as you follow one of these scoundrels, your #1 job is to reassure them that the fault belongs to anyone but them. The second it becomes clear to one of these failures that they are the reason everyone is needlessly suffering, is the second you can breathe in freely the reek of business. Business, moreso than any other form of communion, is characterized by repeated inevitable failure.
Those who are skilled in business, which is really a monetized form of survival, steer clear of control. Those who seek to control chaos, get whacked, and so does everyone they're protecting.
3-100.) It's Hard!
Operating a business is like driving a porpoise down the highway. Fear, brainwashing, dehumanization, sure this works on the weak-minded, but most employees are just smart enough to resist complete domination.
So just appear happy and humble. Believe me, you're in good company!
